Schedule B
Schedule B export classification number
Definition
Schedule B is the US export classification system maintained by the Census Bureau. Like the HTS, it is a 10-digit code derived from the international 6-digit Harmonized System root. Schedule B numbers are used on the Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing required for most US exports valued over $2,500. Schedule B and HTS codes share the first 6 digits but may diverge in the last 4. Filers should never assume the import-side HTS code is acceptable on an export filing — Census maintains a separate set of statistical breakouts. The full Schedule B is published at census.gov/foreign-trade.
