HTS Chapters 84-85

Electronics Import Tariffs

Electronics imports face some of the lowest base MFN rates in the tariff schedule — most products enter at Free to 3.9%. However, Section 301 tariffs of 25-50% on Chinese-origin goods and the 10% Section 122 global baseline dramatically increase the total effective rate. Semiconductors now face 25%+ effective rates. The US imported over $430 billion in electronics in 2024.
